Buddy
Buddy is an Australian Cattledog and Jack Russel Terrier/Chihuahua mix.
I first met Buddy when we were asked to babysit him while his owners, my cousins went to Hawaii on vacation. His mother, Patty was able to stay somewhere else, so we didn't get to keep her for the three weeks we kept Buddy.
He was one of the most polite and well-mannered dogs I've ever met, and was always happy to meet anyone new. For being so tiny, he sure could chase my two beagles -- who were both easily twice his size -- around the yard and they would be out of breath and he would still be ready to run again.
He loved to play with the Mika and Boxcar, although had he stayed much longer to where he had matured, he would have 'gratuated' into our pack rank as Shadey's mate, and the Beta Male -- second in command alongside her.
When I first met him, my first thought was "Why would anyone name their dog 'Buddy'?", although the answer to my own question occured to me after I got to know him -- he was everyone's buddy, and I had never met anyone he couldn't get along with. Even people who didn't like dogs had always loved little Buddy.
It's a shame he had to go so soon, although I assume like everything else in life, what happened had happened for a reason. One thing is for sure, Buddy touched the lives of many, many people and will never be forgotten.
We love you, Buddy.

Buck
Buck was born on the same day as my wolfboy, Nova. The two pups, along with Sebastian, are a trio of best friends whenever little Bucky comes to visit, and you can hardly get them to stop roughhousing long enough for them to eat and sleep. xDD

Patty
Patty would be Buddy's mother. She is a six year old australian cattledog mix, much like my own dog, Akita, who doesn't really care much for Patty and the feeling is quite mutual because Patty is used to being the dominant dog in her territory, and Akita is in no way willing to surrender her proud title as "Alpha Female" either, so their personalities really clash quite a bit.
Akita had tried getting Patty to play and roughhouse like Buddy and other visiting dogs always did, although having visited so soon after Buddy's departure, Patty was in no mood to go romping around, and really mostly ignored Akita, for obvious reasons of course.
I feel certain that she knew perfectly well that Buddy was her son, and she loved him, so just like a human person losing a child, there's no way for me to be able to know how hard it was for her or what she went through.
Patty is, however, an amazingly beautiful dog with a stunning sleek speckled cattledog coat that I really admire, and apart from other dogs at that specific time, she has a wonderful disposition around people, and is very well behaved, especially around her owner/my cousin, Steve.

Makena
Makena, or Kenna as I called her, is a Miniature Schnauzer, obviously. She visited for a short while along with Patty (and their owners, my cousins of course) in mid to late 2006, and got along well with absolutely everyone, be they human, dog, cat or otherwise. I never saw her in a bad or upset mood, and she seemed to have a cute little smile permanently plastered on her bushy little face. :3
If I understand right, she belonged to her owner's son at one time, although was taken over by Kathy, her and Patty's owner. If I remember correctly, she is seven to eight years old, although she has the attitude of a social and happy little pup.
Our dogs kept continuously sticking their noses in her face to move the eyebrows out of the way and see her eyes, which I personally thought was quite cute, as she didn't mind the extra attention in the least.
