[Rules]

If I sent this page to you personally, feel free to skip this part. I obviously thought you were skilled enough to know the basics of role playing if I wanted to role play with you. Better yet, if you honestly believe that you /are/ skilled enough, then feel free to skip over this or just skim through it at your leisure -- if you're what I'm looking for, then you'll probably already know all of this, anyway. I've only really got this page here to try to avoid the idiot role players, anyway. xDD

1. No power playing -- please don't begin taking control of my character(s).
They're mine, and I'd like it best if I have full say over what they do or don't do. Under no circumstances should you use my character as if it is your own, and begin describing what they feel, think or do. If you would like them to do something in particular, feel free to ask me, and I'll probably be more than happy to oblige, as long as you give me the option.

2. No godmoding.
I don't mind mild godmoding, since sometimes a role play can call for it, but I am of course referring to simpler things, like assuming my char will follow yours, or having yours take their hand and lead them somewhere. This is far different than completely demolishing someone else's char in one post during a fight or something. Landing a few hits or maybe snatching an item away from someone is fine. I will generally ask your permission if I ever wish to do anything of the sort, and I would appreciate the same in return.

3. No n00bspeak, chatspeak, internet lingo or otherwise shorthand slang in or out of character.
I like to chat in OOC with my role playing partners - a lot, and chatspeak is complicated, difficult to understand and downright annoying. I don't mind a 'lol' or 'brb' here and there, nor even some lighthearted lolspeaking -- even I do that, but to be honest, much more than that when you aren't just joking around gets rather irritating, so for the sake of my sanity, please refrain from using it around me. ^^'

4. Absolutely NO Wolfscript for its false meanings.
I don't care if you use 'brute' to mean 'beast', but if you're using it to strictly mean 'male wolf', then forget it.
Also, a 'pelt' is only the fur of an animal after it has been removed from said animal, hide and all.
This includes subbing english words for words of another language. For example, 'terra' means 'earth' in latin. In english, 'terra' means 'the surface of the moon'.
If you use 'terra' as 'the earth', I'm going to assume you're talking about the moon, and if you tell me that you're using it as something it doesn't mean, I'm going to have a lack of interest in continuing to RP with you. Sorry, but this gets on my nerves above all else.

5. No one-line posts, no exceptions. If you can't think of much to post, then wait until writer's block passes. I usually won't mind waiting if I can get better quality at a later date. ..But seriously, I'm only asking for at least a paragraph on average.
Intros should be at least a few good paragraphs, unless your character(s) are easy to describe. I'm not demanding novel-posts, and as long as I have something to respond to, then I'll do my very best to give you the same. If I have failed to do so, then /please/ let me know. I won't be at all offended, and I can either edit or add onto my last post for you. :3

Also, I do have one personal request. If I start the role play -- which I usually do, because I don't mind in the least -- then /please/ help me begin the interaction between our characters in your intro, so my first follow-up post after my intro doesn't have to be just as long while I try to think of a reason for me to change whatever my character was doing in their intro to run up and begin a conversation with yours. If I don't start, then I will do my best to do the same for you -- it's just common courtesy. Thanks. ^^

6. Long-term only, please. I'm not interested in just role playing for a few hours, a day, a week, or even a month. If I wanted a short-term role play, I would be on the forums, where all of my role plays will be short-term...as I'll probably soon be frozen for it. xDD Still, if we're doing a one-on-one, expect it to be long-term, 'kay? nn;

7. Please actually /read/ my intro, and do /not/ be intimidated by it -- do you really think I want to spend over an hour on an intro with a setting that suits us both and a character you wanted me to use, just for you to say "Whoa, that's really long, mine might be a lot shorter than that if I were to reply, so, seeya"? To make it clear -- I /don't/.

I don't care how long your intro is, as long as it doesn't object to rule number five here, but seriously, I'm not asking for you to try to outdo me or anything -- it's for fun, not a freaking writing competition, and I consider it a slap in the face when someone tells me that, because I actually spent time working on an intro for them, it was too much effort for them to bother actually reading it and sending back one of their own. If you're going to do that, why even ask me to make an intro for you in the first place? x__x

8. I usually double, and even occasionally triple, though admittedly not very long for the latter. If you want me to double, I can, and typically will, even if you don't want to. Keep in mind that I consider 'doubling' as using two characters -- and not specifically a male and a female, as some seem to think this refers to. If you don't want either of us to, then I don't have to, but my posts are probably going to be a lot shorter and lacking in additional action.
You can use as many as you want, but /please/ don't use more than you can handle -- it just gets overcrowded. x_x; I'm not talking about sub-characters such as pets or random people around the setting, but unless you can pay attention to your main characters equally, it'd save me a headache if you only used one or two. n_n

I think that's about it, although I do expect a bit of other stuff that goes without saying. Really, I'm a human being, and I /do/ get bored and whatnot. I'd also like to chat with you and get to know you in OOC, not just role play non-stop /constantly/. I usually prefer to do both at once, like send some OOC posts in between every IC post, if that makes any sense.

Also, if for any reason you eventually decide you don't want to RP with me any more, /please/, for the love of all things good, tell me. Better yet, tell me if you even begin getting bored with the role play, because then I can try to help spice it up or even discontinue it and start over with a new one that won't have such bad results.
Try not to wait until it's just disastrous and you, or both of us hate it, okay? xD I /really/ don't like losing good role playing partners just because that specific RP majorly failed and had to be put down and buried. xDD;
I just ask that you /don't/ randomly discontinue to speaking to me, or worse, avoid me or block me. x__x; Yes, I've had that happen before, and I'm sure plenty of others have, too.

So..I really can't think of anything else to add here. Besides, truth is, if we get to role playing and I like you enough, I'll probably let you stretch some of the rules anyway, if you absolutely must. Otherwise, if you're a decent role player, you probably already knew all of the stuff I just typed up, so unless you're only reading them out of boredom, I'm not sure why you wasted your time going through them. xDD
